Album Review:

I had high hopes for this album. Discogs lists it as 'Surf Rock', and the cover promises that it includes "big hits sung by Burt Wheels." Was this some forgotten treasure with some unknown vocal numbers on it?

The answer to that question is a resounding "no."

What is actually on the album are country and rock n' roll numbers played beneath the roar of engines, supposedly from the Indianapolis 500. The tracks whose titles refer to the genre ('Twisting Machine' and 'Drag Girl') are misstated and have nothing to do with surfing or drag racing whatsoever. I guess I had built my hopes up too high for this one - but nevertheless, it's still a poor excuse for an 'album' by any standard.

This and Hang Ten: Surfing with the Wedges are both contestants for the worst surf/hot rod album of all time.
