Recorded live at a concert at Myrtle Beach in July 1963, Bo Diddley's Beach Party doesn't feature much in the way of surf music but does boast being one of the first rock albums recorded remotely. 'Old Smokey' is the closest thing to surf music here. 'Road Runner' features a guitar tone close to Dick Dale's first two albums.
