Album Review:
Guitar Hits is a German collection of tracks from two other from The Jokers albums, Big Beat With The Fabulous Jokers Go Discotheque (1965) and The Jokers - Play All Time Hits! (1966). While this compilation does include a sweet Dodge on the front cover and two tracks typically associated with surf bands - 'Miserlou' and 'Apache', all selections are played tightly in the crisp, pointed Shadows style and not the usual wet California surf style. Gershwin's 'Summertime' is about as close to actual surf music as we get here.
At least the cover is kind of interesting...
