Album Review:

A super scarce album originally released in Hong Kong in 1965. The Corsairs were an instrumental group that mainly took their cues from the UK instrumental scene.

With the exception of the opening track; a cover of Cuban songwriter Osvaldo Farrés' 1947 hit, 'Quizas Quizas Quizas' that matches the surf tone impressively well, nothing else is of much interest. 'Blue Moon' and 'Estrelita'  marginally fit the style.

Like many early-60s instrumental groups outside the U.S., the Corsairs' crisp Shadows-like sound is fringe surf music at best. The playing is well performed, but these tunes unfortunately lack the raw reverby sound of the real thing.
