Album Review:
I knew what this was when I bought it - I paid $2 for it - which is about the right price. While other ‘cash-in’ releases like Don Daily’s Surf Stompin’ album, repurposed music that could marginally pass for the surf genre, the tunes on this one are so far off the mark, it hurts.
Palace Records obviously spent no time on this release. The tracks are nothing more than jazz numbers with automotive titles attached to them. The cover even looks like a close-up of some kid's model car kit.
Usually, I try to be somewhat kind to these type of releases, but on this one, I can’t find anything positive to say. I suppose the track names are clever. That’s about it. Better avoid this one. :)
