The Surfriders
Ten Tons of Wet

synopsis
review
A very rare Canadian surf release. Appearing in 1968, the music on this album predates this pressing by a full six years. In actuality, this is the Cornells’ Beach Bound album under a different name with slightly different takes. That album can go for $500 so if you're interested in owning a copy, this Canada-only counterpart is probably your best deal.
Notwithstanding its high price tag, the music on here is nothing much of interest. Curiously, there was no mono release. And although everything is in stereo, there are many dropouts between channels and the mastering is noticeably poor. 'Loop,' and 'Hash Board' are this reviewer's picks while the other tracks are rather uninspired.
Exactly how a self-pressed 1962 surfing album came to be re-released under a different name in British Columbia, Canada of all places is a mystery. Many of the song titles are changed and the back cover is riddled with spelling errors. My advise is to skip it.....
