I'm just a guy in my early twenties who wants to share my love of surf and hot rod music with the world!
History
When I was 14 I bought my first car-themed record album for $4.00 on eBay. It was Hey Little Cobra by the Rip Chords. As soon as I put it down on the turntable, I was whisked away to another time - a simpler time - a time I'd missed.
But wait! I hadn't missed it completely - as the album played, I found that I could relive it. That time wasn't totally gone; some of it was still nestled somewhere in the grooves of that dusty old record album. I was hooked! I had to get more of this music - but where?
I turned to local shops, record collecting books, and websites, to find out and soon amassed quite a collection of early 1960's surf culture and the adventure continues....
About the Website
In 2018 I launched the original SurfRoute101.com. It quickly grew to be one of the most visited surf and hot rod music sites on the internet. Unfortunately, I created it with an email a teacher had created for me in high school, and upon losing access to the password, I also lost access to the site.
With no updates in over three years, I had it taken down and decided to restart with this site. I view this as an opportunity to fix the major flaws I experienced with the original site and to share my collection with the world.
